What’s Your New Year’s Resolution Theme for 2017?

Instead of setting goals for yourself that you’ll be unable to maintain by February, choose a simple New Year’s Resolution Theme you can actually attain.

​​​​​​​Today I want to talk about your focus for the new year. There is a huge benefit to getting laser-focused and setting yourself up for success in January, as well as the rest of the year.


Setting your New Year’s Resolution Theme for 2017

I love picking or a short phrase or focus word to represent my goals for the year. It keeps me focused and grounded, and is a great reminder to have around when life gets crazy-busy. It’s also fun to look back at your word or phrase from the prior year and see how you’ve grown.

You may have seen me ask this question on social media, and if you’re in my Forever-Fit Warriors coaching group, then we’ve gone through focus words in depth, but if you haven’t been asked about your focus for the year yet, today I want to ask you!

What will be your New Year’s Resolution Theme for 2017?

Some questions to ponder as you think about this:

  • What kind of year do you want to have? Why?
  • How does this healthy lifestyle change affect yourself and your family?
  • What are the things you need to do right now so your focus for 2017 can actually happen?​​​​​​​

Focus words I’ve personally had in the past include: “Consistency, Balance, and Balance works.” All of these related related to my goals of achieving sustainable fitness.
